- Hi,
-
- I've set up two experimental FTP-servers on my PC: the one included in Win QVT
- and Alun Jones' WFTPD.
-
- Both accept FTP logins, also anonymous from a UNIX macine, as well as from
- Winsock clients on my own PC.
-
- When I try to reach the FTP servers (only one running at any given time) from
- X-Mosaic (running on a remote machine) or from WinMOsaic on my own PC, I get
- an errror message. In WinMosaic it says : HTAccess: Error accessing
- "ftp://my.machine/". Error Num -2
-
- I had the same problem when trying to access the FTP servers through a Gopher
- to FTP gateway.
-
- WinQVT says that login by anonymous (<user@machine>) <ip.adress> has been
- accepted.
-
- Thanks for any help, or stories about experiences from similar
- experiments.
-
- Regards,
- Morten Lange

-
- : In article <CMCoIw.2uw@iat.holonet.net>, bmccarty@zen.holonet.net (Brad McCarty) says:
- : >
- : >to work. When I start up TCPMAN all that happens is my modem's TX lcd
- : >flashes a few times and then after about 10 secs I get the message "Unable
- : >to load TCP". In the setup I've specified internal slip, com port 2, baud
-
- : I have the same problem BUT I have found a workaround. Start TCPMAN as
- : usual, wait for the "Unable to load TCP" message, dial your slip
- : server and log in. Then exit TCPMAN (I use an &D0 in the dial string
- : so I won't lose the connection). Invoke TCPMAN again and everything
- : works fine.
-
- Were either of you hardcoding your IP address in the config? I initially
- tried to use both bootp and arp and always got the "unable to load TCP"
- message. We just started assigning IP addresses and then Trumpet Winsock
- worked great. This is going into a Livingston Portmaster 2e configured
- for either dialup or SLIP.
